LDS Fact Check is an attempt to separate Doctrine from Policy and Culture in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
This is not an ‘anti’ site, and while comments are welcome, any comment that is not in harmony with the pursuit of understanding the Doctrine of Jesus Christ and separating it from the policies and culture of His Church will be subject to removal. With that, it is our quest to find deeper understanding by providing a topic, our understanding of that topic and whether it is or is not doctrine. We then welcome comments and insight to improve that understanding.
Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles reminded church members in the April 2013 general conference that “not every statement made by a Church leader, past or present, necessarily constitutes doctrine. It is commonly understood in the Church that a statement made by one leader on a single occasion often represents a personal, though well-considered, opinion, not meant to be official or binding for the whole Church.”
